Day 1 Itinerary for Bangkok
Wat Pho
Centrally located in the old town of Bangkok, directly south of the Grand Palace, the Wat Pho, the marvelous Budhha Temple, holds the distinction of being one of the oldest in Bangkok. It is most famous for the giant reclining Buddha statue, which is 45 meters long and covered in gold leaf, and of course its beautiful garden, chedis, and prangs.
Wat Pho houses more than a thousand pictures of the Buddha, which is more than any other temple in Thailand. This Buddha Temple is open daily from 8:30 am to 6:30 pm with an entrance fee of 100 baht.
Wat Benchamabophit (Marble Temple)
This temple is made from pure Italian marble and is known for its chofas (Chofa is a Thai architectural decorative ornament that adorns the top at the end of Temple and palace roofs), and its elegant gold carving. Its courtyard, pillars, and lion statue guardians are all made entirely of Italian Carrara marble. Inside the temple, you will find a Buddha statue which is a copy of Phra Buddha in Phitsanulok.
The temple opens daily from 8:00 to 5:00 pm with an entrance fee of 20 baht.
Wat Arun
Situated on the Thonburi side of Chao Phraya River, Wat Arun Temple is also known as the Temple of Dawn. The Arun temple is known for its 80 meters high central tower called Phra Prang. The artistic mosaic tiles decorated on the tower look marvelous. Wat Arun temple is an architectural representation of Mount Meru, the center of the universe in Buddhist cosmology.
I recommend witnessing the sun-set over the Chao Phraya River and don’t forget to miss the night view when the lights make the temple shine like splendid gold. The entry fees for the temple is 50baht per person.
Wat Traimit
Located in Chinatown, Wat Traimit know as a temple of golden Buddha. Discovered accidentally the world’s massive golden Buddha statue nearly 5 meters high and weighing more than 5 tons is an artefact that you cannot miss.
The opening timings for the temple are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm with an entrance fee of 10 Baht.
Make sure to wear clothes which can cover your knees and shoulder as they follow the set of rules across all the temples.
Bangkok cultural trip can either be pre-booked, but I recommend to book ferry ride with an all-day pass that would cost around 100 baht for unlimited rides in a day. You can get down and get in boats from anywhere and check out the places around. It helps you avoid city traffic, which can be horrifying at times.

Floating Market

Reaching there can be an easy task either hire a private cab or boat which is the cheapest and most convenient mode of transport. The floating markets are located far from Bangkok city centre. They are approximately 50-80 kilometres which can take approximately one to two hours but worth the journey.

Jim Thompson’s House
Named after a middle-aged American man, The Jim Thompson House is a museum that showcases an incredible collection of Asian art and other unique items. However you’re not allowed to click any pictures inside the house, you can click as many photos as you like in the courtyard or outside the home. Lumphini Park
If you want to feel nature, there is no better place in Bangkok than Lumphini Park. Have a relaxed journey at Lumphini Park to get away from the hustle bustle of the city. At all hours of the day, you’ll find people walking, biking, playing sports, practicing tai chi, or just relaxing. After navigating the hustles and bustles of this concrete jungle, it will be a good experience to visit such relaxing places during your days in Bangkok.
Night Cruise
Night cruise is a must-do experience during your Bangkok trip. Enjoy the beauty of Bangkok night, its stunning scenery, beautiful chao phraya river, and beautiful historical sites such as the Royal Grand Palace & Wat Pra Kaew, Bangkhunprom Palace, Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn), Kanlayanamitr Temple, and the Rama VIII Bridge while floating on the chao phraya river, enjoying food and sipping drinks on board. My hotel insisted that I must try a Night cruise. I went ahead and tried the night cruise which cost me 1200 baht, and it was a wonderful experience of Bangkok night.
Day 3 Itinerary for Bangkok
Safari World
Safari World is a completely different concept of a zoo, more like an animal park, it does have some good and some not so good sides, but the animals in the park do have a huge space to walk around freely and do not look caged.
Do this only if you have a keen interest in animals or if you are with kids/larger group. I did this and didn’t find it of much interest.
The entrance fees for the park is 650 baht, but my trip was pre-booked and it included lunch with pick and drop from my hotel.
Chatuchak Weekend Market
Chatuchak Weekend Market, one of the largest markets in Thailand, is truly a shopper’s paradise. It is divided into 27 sections. Each section has a specific type of items for sale like clothes, art, plants, and so on. This market has over 15,000 stalls visited by over 200,000 customers on the weekends.

An amazing thing is that going inside and witnessing the nice scenes in Bangkok Art and Culture Center, doesn’t cost a thing. It is a fascinating treat for those who appreciate architectural innovative designs.
National Museum
The Bangkok National Museum is the largest museum in Southeast Asia that showcases the history and culture of Thailand. It encloses prehistoric art, antiques, impressive murals, galleries of traditional musical instruments, and much more. The walls of the museum are decorated with paintings that encompass the life of Buddha.
Free guided tours of The Bangkok National Museum are also available in English on Wednesdays. The entry fee for this museum is 200 THB per person.
Food Tour
Bangkok is all about food and is called foodies’ paradise. During your days in Bangkok, take a tour to food courts over the Thai streets and experience the authentic Thai food. Bangkok being my final destination in Thailand, I tried my one last shot on Buns, Cold Coffee, Pad Thai, Thai Curry, Rice, etc. The coffee that they sell on the streets is so yum, I have never tasted that even in an organized chain like Starbucks.
You would be surprised to see, but the convenience store chain like 7-Eleven stores in the city can get you some really good sausages, pastries, pies, mochis, Ready-made meals are all worth a try and will help you save a lot for your trip.

Now, the main reason why most people or me stay back an extra day in Bangkok, is shopping. If you plan to do so make sure your return flight allows you excess luggage at low cost, because you sure going to splurge a lot.
Best way is to start self-exploring the malls or markets around Bangkok city and learn the usual rates to avoid regretting to pay high. You can visit Pratunam Market, Indra Market, Platinum Mall and few more niche malls around the area which are centrally located in the city.
Pratunam market is good if you are their for wholesale buying. Also to inform some of the the clothes available here are same as they sell it on Shein.com
You can also check out the Indra Market and MBK mall around the city which were decent enough. You will find cool cosmetic stuff like a charcoal mask, charcoal blackhead removal, lip mask, eye mask etc, they had some really unique stuff you must check it out.
