When to Visit Ho Chi Minh City

How to Reach Ho Chi Minh City
By Air
The easiest way to reach Ho Chi Minh City is by air. There are several international airports in Vietnam, including the Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City. The airport is located about 7 kilometers from downtown Ho Chi Minh City. Tan Son Nhat is also the main international gateway to the country, with routes from Southeast Asia, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Australia. It’s just an easy walk between international and domestic terminals.
From India, there are many direct flights from its major cities Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai. The journey time is around 5 hours, depending on the stopover, route, and aircraft type.

By Train

Tickets can be purchased at the station or online. The best way to reach Ho Chi Minh City by train is to take a train from Hanoi or Danang. If you are already in Vietnam, the best way to get to Ho Chi Minh City is by bus. The buses are comfortable and usually have air conditioning. The trip usually takes around 12-15 hours, depending on the traffic. There are a few different types of buses: luxury buses, sleeper buses, and VIP buses. Luxury buses have limited leg room and sometimes a TV or movie screen. Sleeper buses have beds so you can sleep during the trip.
