Ideally, we plan most of our getaways during the weekend, rare are the chances we plan anything during the weekday. But as it was my birthday, we decided to do a weekday getaway and celebrate with friends and family. And it was the best decision, as we had an amazing time and experience at Deena Villa.
About Deena villa:
Nestled amidst nature, the gorgeous structure, paired with amenities offered, guarantees a getaway unlike any other. It features a private swimming pool surrounded by greens and a living room that serves as a perfect chill spot. Along with this, you can also opt for a heated pool that has a waterfall and jacuzzi area certainly adds to the experience. Tucked away from the prying eyes of the bustling city life, here, you will be in the company of twittering birds and calming landscapes, that promise a refreshing escape.
Tucked in the main city centre of Lonavala, Deena Villa is adorned in the hues of blue, whites, greens, browns and more, this villa is located in the Parsi Colony, behind Narayani Dham Temple. It is a perfect mix of tranquillity and solace for a quick weekend or weekday getaway.

About Lonavala:
Lonavala hill station is delightful and cool throughout the year with an ideal temperature ranging from 18°C to 29°C during winter, and 22°C to 32°C degrees during summers. Thus, you can plan to visit this destination any time of the year. Monsoons are another level of thrill to add with lots of dams, waterfalls and trekking activities.
Our timing was perfect for this villa where we got to see both sides of the monsoons. Amazing weather during the day, luckily it didn’t rain in the daytime so we could chill and enjoy our drinks in the outdoors and in the evening we enjoyed the rain sitting by the sofa and eating vada pavs.
Location & Accessibility:
The property is located just 2.5 Km from the Lonavala Railway Station
and on the Tungarli Road as you enter Parsi Colony and take left with a straight path you will find your destination on your left side. One can easily access the destination using public as well as private modes of transportation. Will suggest using google maps once you cross Kailash Parbat to avoid any confusion if you coming from Pune Highway.
The best part about this villa is that they provide bicycles for the guests, so if you planning a short trip to the market you can always access that with the bicycles. It is so convenient and easy, every time taking your car out and struggling to park in the narrow lane market area can be troublesome.
Distance from City Centre: 1 km from the Lonavala centre (5-10 mins)
Nearest Railway Station: Lonavala 1.3 Km and Karjat Railway Station 18.9 km (8-10 mins)
Nearest Airport: Pune airport is located at a distance of around 57.3 km (1 1/2 hours) and Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport Mumbai at a distance of around 67.6 km. (2 1/2 hours)
About the accommodation and common areas:
Let me walk you through the villa accommodation that it has to offer.
The interior is boutique-style with absolute olden-charm-like cottages. The rooms are a perfect combination of modern and contemporary decor put together with Pergola by the pool, an outdoor projector to watch movies under the star, and bicycles to help you make the most of your time during your stay. The top floor rooms have a beautiful minimal interior adding an old-world charm decor with its wooden furnishing. Deena Villa in Lonavala has enough recreational space for a group to indulge and is best suited for couples, families with children and large groups.
All rooms in the bungalow are spacious and completely air-conditioned. There are three bedrooms on the first floor and a common living area on the ground floor. All the bedrooms are well-equipped with double-sized beds, and fresh linens and have balconies. There are a total number of four washrooms one being common for everyone to use and others being attached to the respective rooms. The bathrooms are modern with geysers for hot water supply and well-equipped with toiletries, shower, toilet paper etc. They do provide an extra bed, which would be arranged by the caretaker during your stay period.
The common living area on the ground floor has a dining area and a seating arrangement for 8-10 people including a recliner, overlooking the lawn and the pool. The living area is well-equipped with a flat-screen TV with access to local channels, and a music system to enjoy some great music while chilling in the pool. High-speed Wi-Fi is available in all rooms, so if you plan a staycation during weekdays or weekends you are sure to reply to your emails in a jiffy.
The entire ground unit is accessible by wheelchair making it convenient for families to get senior citizens to join them. They have ample space for parking too. You can easily fit 2-3 cars inside the premises. The entire villa is well-gated, and also has security cameras for the guest’s safety. A power backup is available at the villa, just in case there is any power failure in the area.
Guests have free access to the kitchen for preparing tea, coffee, instant noodles and reheating food. The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, a microwave, a gas stove and essential crockery which we ideally need.
Because of its location, it becomes easy to order food on zomato or swiggy. We ordered all our meals from zomato, I would personally recommend Kebab House they have amazing veg food, you must try their kichdi and soya chap.
This villa follows a strict veg food policy, but you can consume alcohol or smoke outside on the lawn.
They do have a caretaker, his name is Hari, a soft-spoken and friendly guy. He will make sure if in case you need any supply or help while you stay at the Villa.
Activities & Experiences:
A double-story Deena Villa in Lonavala is your ideal escape from city life to enjoy a laid-back time with your group and be one with nature. This Villa also offers a private terrace area with enough lounging space and lush green valley views of Lonavala. Moreover, you can chill in their private swimming pool equipped with a waterfall, pre-heated water, a jacuzzi and a deck to lounge.
The best part about this villa was the jacuzzi attached to the pool, it also had a waterfall in the middle. We had an amazing evening at the poolside, it was the best decision ever to celebrate my birthday at Deena Villa.
P.s. You can also opt for the heated pool if you pre-inform them. As it is monsoon the temperature tends to dip in the evening, and swimming in a heated pool in the cold weather is fun.
Make the most of the garden lawn and Pergola by the pool, indulge in various outdoor activities or simply relax accompanied by a drink of your choice on the lounge deck. The property also offers bicycles, so if you want to wander around the area, you can explore the town with this ride.
We had an amazing time playing around in the pool and enjoying the rain while we sat in the living area and played some card games.
Another best part about the villa is the outdoor projector where guests can watch a movie by the lawn and pool. In fact if you planning an outdoor party by the pool, you can even plan to surprise your near and dear ones with a short movie clip or images in a slideshow. Just make sure to pre-inform the host if you need the setup.
Unfortunately, it started raining heavily on that night, so we couldn’t get to enjoy that part of the villa. But there is always the next time, I am sure to visit the villa again with more friends and family.

Due to the pandemic situation safety measure have become a cause of major concern and it has to carry out with utmost importance. The homestay premises will be sanitized before your arrival and all the staff will have their temperature measured and regular sanitization of railings, stairs, etc.
The villa offers the services of experienced and helpful hosts and you can reach out to the host for any inquiries, you’ll receive their help and service with a warm smile.
The host- Rishit Shah is really friendly and was always available on call or via messages if we had any queries. We even managed to get an early check-in as it was a weekday, and the host was very cooperative with us.
